Dressage Clinic with Sara Algotsson-Ostholt at Mountain Vista Farm
As an eventer, how much of you and your horse’s training focuses on dressage? Do you consistently complete horse trials without jump penalties but lacking the dressage score that will allow you to clinch the win? Turn you and your horse’s weakness into a competitive asset with the expert eye and adept teaching skills of Sara Algotsson-Ostholt, international Swedish event rider and Olympic medalist.
Classically trained and continuously studying under some of Europe’s most respected dressage figures, Sara is a renowned clinician in her home country and abroad. Her accolades include an individual silver medal in eventing at the 2012 Olympics, completing the 2004 and 2016 olympic games, five top ten finishes at Europeans, and consistent success at young horse championships. Sara is not just a fiercely successful competitor but a truly skilled horsewoman, experienced at developing young horses from starting under saddle through the top levels of sport. The base of much of her success can be attributed to her thorough, principled development of her horses on the flat, which is reflected in their consistently high placings in dressage. Just this summer she took home first and first and second at Strzegom in the highly competitive CCI3* and CCI2* divisions, respectively, after pinning first, second, and third in dressage.
Jumper and pure dressage riders are also welcome to participate in this event. Host facility Mountain Vista Farm boasts state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor arenas and is beautifully located in Rappahannock County just an hour southwest of Washington DC.
