Wareadaca is pleased to host the May 12-13 LANDSAFE Rider Safety Clinic! Find out and practice how to safely fall from your horse!

LANDSAFE is a progression-focused program that focuses on reducing rider risk though a real life simulator, fall technique training and much more.
The program will teach you the basic skills needed to improve body awareness and self-preservation in the event of a rider fall. Clinic participants will have 2 morning "unmounted sessions" where they learn body control and fall techniques. Each morning session is followed by an afternoon "mounted session" in which the participants get to put the morning's training to the "test" in live-action involuntary dismount training done progressively at the participants pace and ability level.
DAY 1
Two hours of gymnastics skill building will start your day. Here you will learn the correct ways to shape, roll, position your arms and wrists, balance, body awareness and the control needed to become competent in a dive roll.
The next two hours will be spent transferring these skills to the simulator.
DAY 2
We revisit the basic gymnastics skills learned on Day 1 and look for ways for you to develop stronger skills while working at home. The time spent is dependent on skill progression, @ 1 to 1.5 hours.
The second part of Day 2 is devoted to skills on the simulator, building speed and difficulty as each individual makes progress. (Speed and height can be varied to suit each individual’s needs.)
Why do you need to attend??
This is vital safety training for riders of ALL levels, abilities and riding goals. Riders who participate in this clinic notice incredible improvements in their balance, awareness and general riding abilities on their horses.
FEI Research* shows that the risk of fall with injury ranges from 1 in every 250 starters for low impact falls to 1 in every 520 starters for serious injuries. The type of fall also correlates to the risk of injury or death. The risk of having a serious injury is once every 55 falls. A rotational fall, however, increases the risk to once every 5 falls.

CANCELLATION POLICY: The clinic fee is non-refundable. You are purchasing a time slot which is paid for in advance. If you are unable to use this space, you are responsible for finding another to fill it. A waiting list will be maintained for unforeseen circumstances, but there is no guarantee.
Waredaca is a full service equestrian facility located in the Laytonsville area of northern Montgomery County, Maryland (outside of Washington, DC). It features excellent outdoor jumps arenas, a spacious indoor arena, and a well regarded cross country course.

Trailer Direction: IN GOOD WEATHER: Use our EAST ENTRANCE OFF OF HOWARD CHAPEL ROAD: GPS-- 22710 HOWARD CHAPEL ROAD, BROOKEVILLE MD 20833; after pulling thru the driveway gate, park in the grassy area on the left.IN WET WEATHER OR RECENT WET WEATHER...use our WEST ENTRANCE GPS: 4015 Damascus Road Laytonsville MD 20882; if heading west from the Sunshine intersection of 97/Damascus Rd you'll drive past the corner parking field and Waredaca Main Entrance and turn into our West Entrance just before the sharp bend in the road. Continue thru the automatic gate continue to your right, to our indoor arena, and park in the gravel area when the road widens.
