Join ODHPC and Elysian Hills Training Center for a Jump Derby!
The Jump Derby will be held in a huge, grass field. First several jumps will be a stadium course. You'll continue to cross country jumps and then finish on another brief stadium course. Courses will include water, banks, ditches (for appropriate levels), fly fences and standard stadium jumps. Courses are measured and optimum time suitable for each level will be posted. Perfect for event horses, field hunters, green horses and green riders.
Intro (18") through Training (3'3") divisions. We have added a "Poles" class, which will be on the flat with no jumping,
All riders will start over a short course of stadium jumps, continue onto a course of cross country jumps and finish with a course of stadium jumps.
Cross country jumps will be natural elements likely to be found hunting.
Stadium courses will include oxers, verticals and combinations.
$50 per entry for first trip around. $25 for each additional trip around.
You may add additional "trips around" the day of the Jump Derby.
We will start with Intro level and work up.

Day-Of Entries will NOT be accepted. Rain date scheduled for April 29, 2018.
All entries MUST include:
1. Current (within 12 months) NEGATIVE coggins test
2. Signed release(s): USPC Non-Member & Elysian Hills (both will be available day-of but will need to be signed PRIOR to picking up competitor packets)

Derby Rules:
1.All rounds are timed and the rider closest to the optimum time with a clear round wins each division.
2.First rounds only are scored; repeat rounds, if elected, must be on the same horse in the same division and are not scored.
3. A clear round completed in the exact optimum time scores 0 points. Each second that a rider’s time deviates, whether faster or slower, from the optimum time adds a point.
Points will be added for faults as follows:
-20 points for refusal of any fence
-4 points for a rail or knockdown of any fence
4.Riders who spend more than double the optimum time on course may, at the discretion of the organizers or ground jury, be asked to retire.
5.There will be a bogey fence for each division, which the rider may choose to jump after the timed round is finished. Successful completion of the bogey fence will adjust the rider’s score by 4 points (or less if within 3 points of optimum time) to come closer to optimum time.
6.Ribbons and prize will be awarded to first place rides.
7. Ties stand. Duplicate ribbons will be awarded.
